About Harriet

Life isn’t measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.   (author uncertain))

Great Wall, China 1980

Harriet Denison lives in Portland, Oregon, close to Forest Park where  hiking trails and birds provide daily contact with nature.

Between adventures, Harriet worked as a consultant in non-profit management in Vancouver, Canada. In Portland, she volunteered for ten years in the Women’s Funding Movement. She recently retired after working as the administrator for a progressive foundation for over twenty years.

When not writing or traveling, she enjoys singing with the women in Threshold Choir, dragon boat paddling with Golden Dragons, gardening and hiking. She tries to balance living a responsible, sustainable, healthy lifestyle without going overboard.
